Hexabot App: AI-Powered Robotics Management for Lunar Exploration
Client - Design Flows by Bending Spoon
Sector - Technology
Responsibilities - Research & strategy, information architecture, UX/UI and interaction design.
Objective - Design an intuitive and accessible interface for managing Hexabots in challenging environments for Lunar Pioneers
Project duration - 2 days competition
I participated in the Design Flows 2025 competition to push the boundaries of UX/UI design in emerging technologies. The challenge required designing an innovative digital experience, and I saw an opportunity to create a solution for robotics management in extreme environments for only 2 days.
User scenario: In remote locations like the Moon, operations rely heavily on autonomous robots. A lunar research team working in a science dome needed to collect specific materials for their silicon 3D printer, but manual robot control was inefficient. The challenge was to design a system that allowed seamless monitoring and management of multiple Hexabots in real-time while ensuring accessibility for all users.
I designed the Hexabot App as an intuitive and engaging platform that streamlines robotic operations, prioritising efficiency and ease of use.
The goal was to create a human-centered interface that simplifies complex robotics tasks, ensuring usability for both expert operators and non-technical users in challenging environments.
This project was submitted to Design Flows 2025, demonstrating how AI-driven UX/UI design can revolutionize robotics operations in extreme environments. By merging human-centered interaction with automation, the Hexabot App empowers users to efficiently manage robotic fleets in high-stakes scenarios.
